The Telangana Register

Eight schemes, and which one actually fits your project.

Ordered by how often we use them in a filing — the MSME Policy 2024's Capital Investment Subsidy and Pavala Vaddi cover most new manufacturing projects; T-PRIDE and the smaller add-ons below matter once your project fits that category.

01
Scheme 01
Capital Investment Subsidy
MSME Policy 2024 · G.O.Ms. No. 16, dated 18.09.2024
State Flagship Valid till 31 Mar 2029
Capital Subsidy
25%
of fixed capital investment (land, building, plant & machinery)
Cap
₹30 lakh
flat ceiling regardless of project size
Applies to
New units
commencing production between 18.09.2024 and 31.03.2029
₹4,000 Cr investment planned over 5 years, ₹600 Cr specifically earmarked for incentive disbursal. Common incentives must be filed within 6 months of Date of Commencement of Production (DCP) on the TG-iPASS portal — miss this window and the claim is at risk of rejection.
Eligibility
  • New Micro or Small manufacturing enterprise, Udyam-registered, commencing commercial production within the policy window
  • Enhanced rates apply for women-owned and SC/ST-owned units per notified ceilings
Application & Documents
  • Applied via the TG-iPASS portal; queries unresolved within 90 days trigger auto-rejection
  • Machinery orders or payments made before formal approval can disqualify the unit from co-funding schemes
02
Scheme 02
Pavala Vaddi Interest Subsidy
Interest reimbursement on term loans · new units only
Manufacturing Valid till 31 Mar 2029
Reimbursement
3-9% p.a.
interest above 3% p.a., capped at 9% p.a. reimbursement
Duration
5 years
from date of commencement of commercial production
Not for expansion/diversification: this facility applies only to new enterprises — existing units expanding aren't eligible, and it isn't available if the term loan was released before commercial production began.
Eligible on term loans from Scheduled Commercial Banks, financial institutions recognised by RBI, APSFC-Telangana Unit and SFCs. SC/ST/PwD Women Entrepreneurs can add only immediate family (parents, spouse, sons, unmarried brother) as co-borrowers under this scheme's conditions.
Eligibility
  • New Micro and Small Enterprises with a term loan on fixed capital investment
  • Medium and Large enterprises are not eligible for this specific component
Application & Documents
  • Claimed half-yearly through the TG-iPASS portal, alongside power and SGST claims

Miss the 6-month filing window from your production date, and the claim is at risk — no matter how eligible the project is.

— why we track DCP dates like a deadline, not a formality
03
Scheme 03
SGST Reimbursement
Tiered by enterprise size
General MSME Valid till 31 Mar 2029
Micro / Small
100%
for 5 years from commencement of production

for 7 years, or till 100% of FCI realised, whichever earlier
Large

Reimbursement runs against your actual SGST paid on eligible sales — file the half-yearly claim on time through TG-iPASS, referencing your GST returns for the period.
Eligibility
  • Any enterprise size (Micro through Large), rate and duration graded by category
Application & Documents
  • Half-yearly claims required, with GST returns as supporting evidence
04

100%
for 5 years, for eligible MSMEs
Women/Scheduled Area Bonus
+5%

Also includes priority land allotment and power rebate for SC/ST founders. In Scheduled Areas, ST entrepreneurs can claim up to ₹75 lakh per unit under a related provision — significantly higher value than the general Capital Investment Subsidy's ₹30 lakh cap.
Eligibility
  • SC/ST-owned and managed enterprise, new unit
Application & Documents
  • Caste certificate and project report required alongside the TG-iPASS application
05
Scheme 05
Stamp Duty & Land Cost Rebate
Registration and land-acquisition cost relief

reimbursement on land/shed/building, mortgages, hypothecations
Land Cost Rebate
25%
cap ₹10 lakh, in Industrial Estates/Parks
Land Conversion Charges
25%
cap ₹10 lakh
Three separate line items that DPRs commonly skip — combined, they can meaningfully offset land-acquisition cost for a unit setting up inside a designated industrial estate or park.
Eligibility
  • New MSME executing qualifying land/shed/building deeds within a notified Industrial Estate or Park
Application & Documents
  • Deed documents and land conversion certificate required per claim
06
Scheme 06
Power Cost Reimbursement

General MSME Valid till 31 Mar 2029
General Rate
₹1/unit
reimbursed for 5 years from commencement of production
SC/ST/PwD Category
₹1.50/unit
enhanced rate for 5 years
A recurring operating-cost saving — worth building into your DPR's post-commissioning cash flow rather than treating it purely as a footnote.
Eligibility
  • New MSME with an active power connection at the eligible enterprise
Application & Documents
  • Claimed half-yearly, referencing energy consumption charge bills
07
Scheme 07
Quality Certification, Patent & Cleaner Production Support
Competitiveness & sustainability line items
General MSME Valid till 31 Mar 2029
Quality Cert / Patent
50%
of expenses, cap ₹2 lakh
Cleaner Production
25%
of specific measures, cap ₹5 lakh
Also covers ZED certification support per the 2024 policy update — small line items that quietly add up if your product needs formal quality marks or you're filing IP.
Eligibility
  • Any MSME pursuing quality certification, patent filing, or cleaner-production equipment investment
Application & Documents
  • Invoice and completion proof required per claim
08
Scheme 08
Seed Capital & Skill Upgradation Support

First-gen Entrepreneurs Valid till 31 Mar 2029
Seed Capital
10%
of machinery cost — deducted from your investment subsidy
Skill Upgradation
50%
reimbursement, cap ₹2,000/person trained
Seed capital reduces your eligible investment subsidy claim rather than adding to it — factor this trade-off in when structuring your DPR's financing mix as a first-time entrepreneur.
Eligibility
  • First-generation entrepreneurs setting up a micro enterprise for the first time
Application & Documents
  • Applied for through the DIC alongside the main investment subsidy application

Your 6-month filing window starts the day production begins
Most Telangana MSME Policy 2024 incentives must be filed within 6 months of your Date of Commencement of Production (DCP) on the TG-iPASS portal — and unresolved queries auto-reject after 90 days. Unlike states with multi-year application windows, missing this deadline puts a fully-eligible project's entire claim at risk. Track your DCP date the moment production starts, not when you get around to filing paperwork.

Telangana-specific questions

What founders ask before filing in Telangana.

Common incentives must be filed within 6 months of your Date of Commencement of Production. Filing late puts your claim at risk of rejection, regardless of how eligible the project otherwise is. Half-yearly claims (power, SGST, Pavala Vaddi) then follow their own recurring deadlines. This is the single most common way eligible Telangana MSMEs lose subsidy value — not ineligibility, but missed paperwork timing.
No — Pavala Vaddi is explicitly restricted to new Micro and Small Enterprises. Expansion and diversification projects don't qualify for this specific component, even though they may still qualify for the Capital Investment Subsidy and SGST reimbursement.
Usually yes, on the numbers — T-PRIDE's 35-50% investment subsidy (cap ₹75L-1Cr) is significantly higher than the general scheme's flat 25% (cap ₹30L). T-PRIDE also adds 100% tax reimbursement for 5 years and priority land allotment, which the general MSME Policy 2024 route doesn't include in the same form.
